What's
up. I just got back from the PBS and VH-1 shoot in Manhattan and it was
awesome!!
Musically it was amazing. The band sounded tight, Donald's vocals were great, and let's not forget the background singers [Vicki Cave, Carolyn Leonhart, and yours truly]. It turned out to be an interesting kind of gig. During one of the rehearsals, I got hit in the head by a boom camera and during the actual show the same camera hit Vicki's microphone and knocked it into her face. Fortunately, she wasn't hurt and in fact, didn't miss a note. As a result, the stage manager forced the camera operator to keep his eyes open at all time. That seemed to clear up the problem right away. Walter gave me a cool introduction that was very exciting. For more details, check out this "amazing" review by Andy Metzger and pay special attention to the opening paragraph. Lines 6, 7, & 8 are my favorites. After Saturday night's show, I had a surprise visit from my "cousin," drummer extrodinaire-Will Calhoun. It was actually the first time we met and I don't think we're actually related but because we're both in music and share the same last name, people assume we're family. Will is definitely good people and from now on when people ask...Yeah, Will is my cousin. So what am I doing now? "I'm way deep into nothing special." Actually, I was getting ready to chill for a minute but I just got a call from Craig saying we're going to be on David Letterman this Friday, March 3rd so... I have to pack. God Bless, Peace Out...
